Removed additional details due to being a really long post. I submitted a help ticket to HyperX and so far their response is try downloading it in a different browser (which doesn't change anything)Īpplication: HyperX_Cloud_Flight_Firmware_Updater_Rev_3114.exeĭescription: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.Įxception Info: 32ExceptionĪt (System.String)Įxception Info: Īt .Load(,, Boolean, System.Object,, System.Uri) Looks like the application is broken trying to list devices on my system - not sure if you're having the same issue. I see an error logged in event viewer every time I try to launch with the below error. Face your head at the center of the screen and press it.I'm having the same problem. Gunfire on the right is actually an enemy on the left. Every time I start up in Counter Strike sounds are reversed. Only thing I think you will find annoying is every time you enter game you have to hit the ((3D)) button on the headset to center it. When it does work? Sure best sounding headset I've ever owned. Just yesterday (or the day before) the headset worked all night (3 hours?) then out of nowhere started to get the bass = static thing. HyperX replaced it once, but realistically how many times can I expect them to be nice enough to replace it. Best Buy doesn't do anything since it's past their return policy (first time by a day or two). The third party does not accept returns what so ever. I'm stuck because I bought this through a third party (who provides me credit) and picked it up at Best Buy. I don't have that issue (nobody complained so far). Oddly enough, people complain about the microphone noise. If you look around Google there's other people with some of the exact same issues (well not the right ear dying). This happened sometimes with the first headset also. bass heavy items like a grenade in game sound like static. Also, randomly the headset turns to static noises.
I'm worried if it all of the sudden starts working and I damage my ears because I had it to 100. Same issues as above, but sometimes I can turn the headset up to 100 and it's barely able to be heard.
They swapped the headset out for a new one and the new one is just as bad/worse. Then the right ear piece started cutting in and out, to where it would be off completely, pressing it lightly worked temporarily, but seemed loose wire inside. Sometimes volume changes out of nowhere and let's say I have things set at 13, I would now have to turn it up to say 28 to achieve the same volume 13 used to have. If you're curious my first headset was 1 day over Best Buy's return policy when it started showing signs. I want to be clear, Geoff (and whoever helped me sending a replacement headset) was nothing but nice/helpful. If issues still persists we’ll see what we can do to help you out."īut I already had that like I mentioned above.
I’d be curious to have you try this firmware update if you have not already tried applying it. Please let me know if that does or doesn’t resolve the issue." I’d suggest always going into device manager after performing a firmware update, under sound and game controllers, and uninstall the HyperX device and then power cycle it.
"The firmware issue that you are seeing as well as the behavior could be a driver related issue. Looking back at my emails this is the responses I got from Geoff HyperX via eMail:
